The Game sees its first kills with Riley at a disadvantage. As dawn approaches, Kevin worries about the psychological state of a young girl with so many lives placed at her finger tips. Helen learns the price for choosing power and money over love.

The Game begins. While Robbie does his best to rally his team and his fellow spectators, Riley begins to see what kind of life and death decisions she is about to make.

As the Game begins with Opening Ceremonies, Ray pays the price for complacency amongst vampires. Cadel must battle between his heart and his head as he plans his strategy and Ruth reveals she is after more than improved human vampire relations on her agenda.

As the spectators assemble into the stadium that was once the old Detroit Meat Packing house, the irony of the Game location is not lost on them. All bets sky rocket for the vampire team to win as the human Game Master, a very unlikely adversary to Cadel is revealed.

The vampiric queen, Geraldine, seduces the Game Master in the hopes of surviving no matter how the death match ends. Micah gets back in good graces with Ruth by offering his heart by way of a necklace once loved by Emily. And James reveals part of his secret plan for revenge to Maria in the hopes of gaining her trust and assistance.

Ray and Helen are given the royal treatment much like the fattened calf before a holiday feast. Meanwhile Riley comes to terms with her father's murder. She confides in Rose and Robbie. Kevin objects profusely to her position as Game Master. He argues with Micah over the psychological effects.

Micah finds his foot soldiers in a secret city sponsored Inmate Reduction Program. The human team is complete.

Micah becomes a double agent as he secretly helps to assemble a team of humans with different but compelling reasons to risk their lives and play The Game. Meanwhile, Helen is prepared for the just desserts as promised by Ruth.

A power struggle turns violent as Helen and Ray reach the height of their ability to manipulate and use one another in their game of cat and mouse. Meanwhile, Micah finds new found inspiration in the haunting by Emily's spirit. Mariah fears for her life as Geraldine disapproves of her love for Cadel.

Rose, weakened and ill from cancer awake in intensive care to find she is trapped in a room with a vampire watching her from just outside the glass walls. Unsure of their next move, Robbie is all that lies between the vampire and his prey. Divine intervention comes in the form of Dr. Kevin Grey who suggests a hiding place until dawn.

Ruth discovers that Micah is aligning himself with Jeremiah and Cadel. To put a stop to it, she quickly and profoundly reveals her powers of authority by testing out the new stadium and it's gruesome feeding chamber that lies just beneath the grated floor of the playing field.

The royal couples from each side of The Game fight over the newest chess champion on the New York scene. Robbie and Rose see the gruesome reality of the Game as James offers the non compliant champion as her first kill.

Rose finds inner strength and accepts the role of Queen while Helen's little secret is nearly discovered by Micah.

While James seduces a lethal beauty to be his queen for The Game, Cadel and Jeremiah study the likely prisoner "pieces" for the vampire side. The unlikely battlefield for the Game is chosen and soon all the world's celebrities both living and undead will descend upon an unsuspecting Detroit.

While Micah proves that you can go home again.....but it will be bloody and painful, Tree Trunks Davies weighs the pros and cons of playing the Game and gambling on a shot at immortality that would restore his All Star status.

Needing a King the elite human spectators can believe in, Ruth sends Micah on a trip to convince a hero to play The Game. Meanwhile, Robbie refuses to accept the doctors prediction that he has to retire as Tree Trunks. With Micah gathering a king for white, Ruth uses addiction and starvation tactics to make James bend to her will.
